AuthBridge NetBar

What is the AuthBridge NetBar network?

The AuthBridge NetBar network replaces the older NetBar network on campus. Public ethernet ports previously connected as NetBar outlets are now connected to the new network.

Location of Public Ethernet Outlets

Outlets connected to the network are located in various places around campus. Generally, RJ-45 Ethernet outlets per-seat in select classrooms are connected to the network. There are additional outlets near some of the Computing Services Clusters, and in several public areas of GSIA.

In the near future, we expect to connect many of the outlets in the University Center meeting facilities to the AuthBridge NetBar network.

Connection Instructions

Before connecting, make sure that your machine is configured to automatically obtain an IP address (via DHCP). Once connected, an IP will be assigned to your machine. If you have previously registered, you will immediately have full network and Internet access. If not, opening a web browser will direct you into the AuthBridge registration page. After following the instructions for registering, your machine will be immediately granted full access to the network.
