Configuring Wireless Networking Under Windows CE

Contributed Information Note

Computing Services does not officially support or maintain wireless networking for Windows CE and Linux based platforms. However, some members of Computing Services have been able to use Wireless Andrew on these platforms and have provided configuration files and hints that may help you, also.

Configuration:

  • Download WLWCE64.EXE
  • Double-click on the downloaded file
  • Run the appropriate Netsetup for your CE device (2.0 or 2.11)
  • Open the WaveLAN control panel on your handheld
    • Set network name to "CMU"
    • Set AP density to "high"
    • For your benefit, we suggest you turn on power management
