Network Group Software
Recent software developed and distributed by the Network Group includes:
- NetReg/NetMon System: A system for management
of IP allocation, DNS/DHCP, as well as network device monitoring and topology
development.
- AuthBridge: Our system under development for
MAC address filtering in Linux, providing authenticated network access for
wired and wireless environments.
- NetSage: A system for managing the 'mon'
system for networks and systems monitoring.
Older software developed and distributed by the Network Group

Note that we have discontinued development of our SNMP library. We
suggest you visit the
net-snmpd project, a derivative of the CMU project.
Older software includes:
- AgentX: An
extensible agent for use with the Carnegie Mellon SNMP Library
- MIB Resources: A collection
of utilities we use to merge MIB files, as well as our MIBs
- NetBar: Our system for
authenticated network access for roaming laptops.
- SNMP:
The CMU SNMP library (V1.14).
- DNS Load Balancing (BIND 8):
Local modifications to BIND 8 to load balance among multiple machines.
(Note: this project was never finished. We have done some work at
load balancing using DNS UPDATE on Bind 9. Please see the NetReg/NetMon
distribution, above.)
